Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google or Apple. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your real email.
• Chess data: the Chess.com username you link, and the public games we import from Chess.com's public API. We never ask for your Chess.com password.
• What you do in the app: game reviews, puzzle attempts and ratings, journey progress, study positions and your settings.
• Usage data: pages viewed and basic device and browser information, through Google Analytics and our own sign-up and import events.

How we use it

• To review your games, build puzzles and track your progress.
• To keep you signed in and secure your account.
• To understand which features are used, so we can improve them.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps.

Who processes it

• Supabase (through Lovable Cloud): hosting, database and sign-in.
• Google: Sign in with Google, Google Analytics, and Gemini models (through the Lovable AI gateway) that write move explanations and coaching notes. Only game moves and positions are sent for these, not your email.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple.
• Chess.com: we read your public games from their public API.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account, games, reviews, puzzle progress and settings are deleted permanently.

Deleting your account

Open Profile → Account → Delete account in the app or on the website. This deletes everything immediately. You can also email support@forkandskewer.com and we'll do it for you.

Children

Fork & Skewer is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights and contact

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it or delete it. Email support@forkandskewer.com. If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top.
